2019 Wedding Trends

It's always fun reading what the experts predict will trend for the coming year, and 2019 is no exception.  Of course the 'experts' all have their own take on the subject but I did notice a few common threads coming up for 2019!

  • The dress  
Meghan Markle inspired dresses - boat-neck and off the shoulder elegance seems to be top of the list.  Jumpsuits are in.



  • Florals

Muted palettes are out and bright, deep colours are in.  Abundant greenery.  Dahlias. Natural, relaxed floral arrangements. Greenery garlands draped over tables and railings. Hanging floral arrangements. Flower walls.                                                                                        


  • Decor
Bright colours - burgundy, turquoise, emerald.  Moody and intense colours. 
Rustic barn weddings give way to industrial spaces - factories, warehouses.
Wineries out -  breweries in. 



  • Food
Buffet style menus becomes more individual with themed food stations being hot for 2019.
The drink for 2019 - Gin.




















Weddings becoming more personalised - custom monogrammed everything from invitations to decor.

Alison & Morné Engagement Shoot Hangklip Beach - May 2019 LOVE and LAUGHTER are the words best describing this special couple.  Their love for each other is radiant, they are best friends, and they laugh all the time, together. Morné & Alison were winners of the SA Wedding Directory Win your Wedding competition and Kobus Kruger Photography sponsored their engagement shoot and wedding photography. We chose a little, out of the way beach at Hangklip, close to Pringle Bay, and it was a spectacular backdrop for this very special engagement shoot.  For a couple that professed to be camera shy, Alison and Morné were soon so comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, it was easy capturing these stunning images. Alison and Morné will be getting married at Liefland wedding venue at Tesselaarsdal at the end of June and we can't wait to be part of their special day, and capture more happy memories for this amazing couple!

Rhuan & Carine's pre-wedding shoot   Liefland wedding venue - April 2019 A pre-wedding shoot, or engagement shoot is always such fun - seeing the happiness, togetherness and hope for the future, in a couple soon to be married, is always special!  The engagement is such a special and significant event, and deserves its own collection of photos to mark the event, as the 1st step on the road to the wedding day.   However, the shoot serves more than one purpose.
